Editorial Policy

Acta Historica Tallinnensia is an open access international history journal published by the Estonian Academy of Sciences in collaboration with the Institute of History, Archaeology and Art History and School of Humanities, both in Tallinn University, and the University of Tartu.

The journal is devoted to the history of the Eastern Europe, of the Baltic Sea region and of the Baltic States. We welcome papers dealing with any aspects of history from medieval to contemporary period.

The submitted papers should be original, unpublished, and not in consideration for publication elsewhere at the time of submission. All paper submissions will be refereed in a double-blind review process by at least two reviewers with expertise in the relevant subject area.

The journal publishes research papers and review essays in English and in Estonian. All articles are provided with short summaries: if the article is written in Estonian, the summary should be in English, and vice versa.

The journal does not charge any publication fee from the authors. The open access fee is partially covered by Tallinn University.

Acta Historica Tallinnensia is committed to Open Access publishing and belongs to the so-called Green Open Access group of journals. The journal applies the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International License CC BY-NC to all articles (http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0/). This means that all articles will become freely accessible once published. Anyone will be allowed to read, download, save, copy, print and distribute the paper in any medium or format and remix, transform and build upon the paper for personal use as long as the original authors and source are cited. In doing so, no permission is required from the authors or the publisher.

The repositories of universities and other scientific institutions are allowed to redistribute and display the articles for non-commercial purposes.

For full details on Creative Commons licensing conditions check http://creativecommons.org.
